The Castel La Vie Blanc is a blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurztraminer; each varietal adds its own beauty to this crisp white wine. The Chardonnay is the backbone lending structure and balance, the Sauvignon Blanc adds citrus and melon notes, while the Gewurztraminer rounds out the floral characters and contributes to the overall silky texture.
Domaine du Castel is a small family-owned winery located in the Judean Hills near Jerusalem. It was first planted in 1988 and released its first Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wines in 1992. The Ben-Zaken family did not plan to produce more than this 1992 vintage, but after positive feedback, more vineyards were planted and a winery built. The estate covers 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyard land that is composed of well-draining clay and limestone soils.
